The 94th Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) Annual Conference will be held in Vancouver, B.C., May 31-June 3, 2017. Attendees include paediatricians and child and youth health professionals.

The 2017 Annual Conference Committee is seeking submissions that reflect the best thinking in the field, informed by theory, research, and practice and cognizant of issues of diversity and inclusion.

Submission fee
A fee of $30 (CAD) will be charged for each submission. Please see Abstract Submission Guidelines for details.

Notice of acceptance
A schedule of all abstract presentations will be finalized in March 2017. The presenting author is then notified by email as to status of the abstracts. 

Registration policy
Presenting (principal) authors also need to register for the conference by March 31, 2017. After this date, abstracts by unregistered authors are no longer eligible for presentation and will not be published in Paediatrics & Child Health.

If a presenting (principal) author cannot attend the annual conference, presentation by a co-author is acceptable. Please advise the Education Department at as soon as possible.

Call for Clinical Case Submissions


Clinical case submission guidelines

CPS members and non-members are welcome to submit their most interesting clinical cases, and participation is open to health professionals in any field. Cases must be submitted online, starting in January 2017.

To reward outstanding trainee case contributions, the CPS provides complimentary annual conference registration to three top-scoring submissions.  Note: Any medical student or trainee in a Canadian general paediatrics program is eligible to submit a clinical case, but those in fellowship programs are not.

Accepted cases will be displayed in the poster hall on Thursday, June 1, 2017.

  • There is no fee for Clinical Case submissions.
  • Cases must be submitted online.

Resident Advocacy Project Guidelines

Are you a local advocate? Or engaged on a project that’s making a difference in your community? This call is meant for you.

If accepted, your poster abstract is a great way to share experience and learnings with paediatricians and other child and youth health professionals from across the country.

The CPS Annual Conference Committee is inviting abstract submissions for consideration. Submissions from CPS members and non-members are welcome, and participation is open to residents and medical students in any field.

  • There is no fee for Advocacy Project submissions.
  • Abstracts must be submitted using the online abstract submission process.

Note: Certify that your project is developed and led by a resident or medical student by uploading a confirmation letter or document from a supervisor, dean or comparable academic authority.
